Temp-controlled Shipping

Temperature controlled shipping refers to the transportation of goods that must be kept at a regulated temperature from the moment it leaves the origin facility until it arrives at the consignee’s door in order to protect the cargo from heat, cold and other environmental hazards.

Temperature controlled shipping may include fresh produce and perishable foods, beer and even pharmaceuticals, clinical tests and vaccines, that need to be maintained at all times as even the slightest changes in degrees can cause the cargo to become unsuitable or unsafe for consumption or render them useless, entirely.

To help prevent cargo from spoiling, carriers may have access to intermodal containers such as refrigerated trucks or reefers, which have layers of insulation in the walls of the trailer and contain temperature control equipment to regulate the freight.

Our team at Gold Coast Logistics understands the differences between shipping dry freight versus temperature sensitive perishables and the inherent risks involved, you can take better preventative measures to minimize or avoid the risks all-together.

By working with a GC representative, you can plan a route-system that cuts down on unnecessary delays and risks that may be due to road closures and high-volume traffic areas. Additionally GC reps are familiar with the stringent regulations that may be imposed by the FDA or DEA in order to ship your freight.

Whatever your temperature-controlled load requires, Gold Coast Logistics has the resources, capacity and technology to move your freight forward!
